ABOUT

THE MAGUINDANAO MASSACRE takes us deep into the secret world of the rebel armies of Philippines, a world unbounded by laws where only a handful have been privy to and survived.

Through rare interviews with victims, politicians and even figureheads of the rebel armies, the film untangles the web of political intrigue behind one of the most violent massacres in the history of Philippines.

Discover the story behind the rise of warlords who operate above the law and the ensuing power struggle between clans where the rules are simple – guns and goons bring home the gold.

The film will unpick the tragic events of that day and use the investigation into the massacre as a way to delve deeper into the secret world of the private armies of Philippines, a world unbounded by laws that only a handful have been privy to.

Through high-level interviews with intelligence personnel, police, the ex-President of the Philippines, Mangudadatu himself, members of Amputuan’s immediate family, Amputuan’s lawyer, and one of only a few survivors of the massacre plus rival militia, we will expose a country ruled by GOONS, using GUNS, bought by GOLD – three necessary criteria for gaining and retaining power.
